What to do when a BNB Chain swap stays pending
A pending BNB Chain swap may be waiting for a block or blocked by an earlier transaction; check its status before speeding it up or replacing it.

If a BNB Chain swap stays pending, check its transaction status and nonce before trying to speed it up or replace it. Pending means the transaction has been sent but has not yet been included in a block. Until it is processed, the swap has not completed.
Look up the transaction hash in a BNB Smart Chain block explorer such as BscScan. Its guide explains that transactions can wait in a pending pool, where validators may favor transactions with higher fees. If you are also checking whether the quoted swap price made sense, our Poocoin guide to comparing prices across trading pairs covers that separate check. A different quote does not, by itself, mean the pending transaction has failed.
Why is my BNB Chain swap still pending?
A swap is a transaction sent from your wallet to a smart contract. The network must include it in a block, and demand or a fee that is too low for current conditions can delay that step. The transaction fee is paid in BNB, even when the swap is for other tokens.
Transactions from one wallet also use a sequence number called a nonce. A later transaction usually cannot be processed until an earlier one from the same address is settled. So a pending transfer or swap may hold up newer activity from that wallet, even if the newer transaction has a higher fee.
What should I check before changing the transaction?
Open the transaction details and confirm that it is still pending, rather than confirmed as successful or failed. Then check the nonce and whether another transaction from your wallet with a lower nonce is still waiting. These details help you identify whether the delay is network-wide or tied to your wallet’s transaction order.
- If it is pending and the wallet offers “speed up,” that usually means sending the same transaction again with a higher fee.
- If an earlier transaction is pending, deal with that one first; later transactions may remain blocked behind it.
- If the explorer shows “failed” or “reverted,” the transaction was processed but the swap did not complete. Check the failure details before trying again.
- Keep enough BNB in the wallet for the fee on any replacement transaction.
Can I cancel or replace a pending swap?
Some wallets let you replace a pending transaction. BscScan describes cancellation as sending a new transaction with the same nonce and a higher fee. A wallet may offer a cancel option that does this for you, or let you speed up the original swap instead. Follow your wallet’s instructions; the required fee increase can depend on the wallet and network conditions.
A replacement only works while the original transaction is pending. If the swap has already been confirmed, it cannot be canceled this way. Check the transaction status again before trying another swap, so you do not accidentally send a second trade after the first one completes.
